The great thing about modern metal braces is that they are strong, durable, and affordable. They work for people of all ages, and we can customize them with various color options, both for the brackets and the elastics.

What Are the Components of Metal Braces?

Metal braces consist of the following components:

Metal brackets: These are tiny squares made of metal, though some come in plastic and ceramic. The metal can come in different colors, and we can even match the color of your teeth.
Archwires: This is a long, thin, curved wire that fits into the center of each metal bracket. It acts as a guidance system to help your teeth shift into their proper position. These wires come in metal or clear, or we can match the shade of your teeth.
Elastic bands, ties, ligatures: Rubber bands of various sizes are wrapped around each bracket to hold the archwire in place or to attach to the headgear. The bands come in a multitude of colors.

Invisalign® clear aligners are a fast, discreet way to get straighter teeth. Hardly anyone will notice that you’re wearing them! They’re incredibly comfortable, too.

Another benefit of Invisalign® is that they’re removable. You’ll need to wear them the majority of the day, but you can remove them at times, which is helpful in certain situations, such as:

Taking photos
Your wedding, prom, or other special events
Giving a presentation

Because they are removable, you can eat with ease. You don’t have to worry about avoiding certain foods. Simply take them out, eat whatever you want, brush your teeth (or at least rinse your mouth), and then place the aligners back in.
