Your New Patient Appointment
Our new patient appointments are tailored to your unique and specific requirements. This is a breakdown of what you can expect at your appointment.
A Review of Your Health and Dental History
To get to know you and your dental health needs better, we’ll review your health and dental history forms with you. At this point, please feel free to inform us of any issues you’ve had with treatments in the past or any concerns you have, such as dental anxiety.
Comprehensive Oral Evaluation
Dr. Omid will check your teeth, jaw joint, gums, and other soft tissues. He is looking for signs of:
- Dental decay
- Gum disease
- Oral cancer
- TMJ disorder
- Bite/teeth misalignment
- Cracked/fractured/chipped teeth
- Tooth discoloration
- Soft tissue conditions/diseases/anomalies
- Injury or infection to the roots of your teeth
At this time, x-rays may be recommended to help Dr. Omid check between the teeth, under the gumline, and inside the teeth.
It’s important to us that each patient feels that they’re in control of their oral health. During this phase of your new patient appointment, we’ll take the time to answer all of your questions and address all your concerns. We use our experience, training, and expertise to guide you to navigate your treatment and prevention options. But we also take into consideration your preferences. It’s not “our way or the highway.” We’ll work with you to create a treatment and prevention plan that fits your wants and needs.
